Allegiant Air earlier today made its summertime schedule public, indicating it’ll make more trips from Northwest Arkansas National Airport to its most established destinations.

The low-cost carrier next summer will increase how often it flies to Las Vegas and Orlando/Sanford, destinations its served from XNA for more than a decade. The airline served those cities in its early years and later expanded with regular flights to places such as Nashville, Phoenix/Mesa and Destin.

Allegiant flies from XNA to Orlando and Las Vegas twice a week most of the time, and they’ve increased those flight frequencies each March to accommodate spring break travelers.

Now, Allegiant is going bigger, flying to Orlando/Sanford five times a week in June and July 2022. Its trips to Las Vegas during those months will increase to four each week.

Low-cost carriers this year have added 10 routes at XNA, accounting for 22 additional flights each week.

Five of the 10 routes were launched by Allegiant. Its new nonstop flights from XNA go twice a week to Houston Hobby, Fort Lauderdale, Punta Gorda, St. Pete/Clearwater and Austin.

The other new routes in 2021 were added by Breeze Airways and Frontier Airlines.

Frontier, which has flown to Denver from XNA since mid-2019, created competition for Allegiant with new nonstop flights to Las Vegas and Orlando. Flights to each city take off twice a week from XNA.

Breeze, a new airline, is jetting XNA passengers nonstop to three cities: New Orleans, San Antonio and Tampa. The Tampa service is four day a week; New Orleans and San Antonio flights occur twice weekly.
